# Info about me

I'm a **professional writer,** **enthusiast coder**, and an avid reader.\
Fun fact: I used SQL and Python to analyze multiple Polish translations of Frank Herbert's Dune for my MA in linguistics before NLP was cool.\
Now I read more than SF\&F: mostly because I enjoy being able to visit the places I know from books, meet the local people and learn about their culture, history and languages. I appreciate art and **good design** (from architecture, to **typography**, and **UX**) but my drawing skills stop at rapid prototyping.\
That’s why taking photos has been my long-term hobby. And since I keep turning work into play (and back into work), for close to ten years I've been photographing [oriental dance events](https://www.facebook.com/wkadruje) in Poland and abroad. Because, I’m motivated by taking ownership and responsibility for my tasks and **seeing the positive impact of my work** I am an occasional contributor to various open source docs projects (including the style guide [canonical/praecepta](https://github.com/canonical/praecepta) repo for Ubuntu).\
My interest in psychology allowed me to also volunteer as a translator for organizations such as the Polish Association of Dialectical Behavior Therapy ([Family Connections videos](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo9Qr7z5aUk\&list=PLQqMwFZa59F5XyLWphSX3qPqSQv0zGNQW)) or [Kwan UM Zen](https://www.zen.pl/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Zwierciad%C5%82o_Dharmy.pdf) (where couples can get married using my translations of wedding vows).

This GitBook is mostly related to what I do at work. At [krzysiekwie.github.io](https://krzysiekwie.github.io) I have a sort of hub of my online projects.
